Meaningful Activities in Care Homes

The national Enhanced Health in Care Homes Framework identifies access to meaningful activities as a key component of improving health and wellbeing of care home residents. This report sets out to highlight a small number of the wide range of excellent ‘meaningful activities’ that are taking place across Newcastle Gateshead in our care homes.

The case studies can be used as a tool to support the development of new activities where care homes maybe considering new things to offer to residents, while the methodology, findings and discussion may be of particular  interest to commissioners in better understanding the challenges care homes face in this particular area.
